On the afternoon of January 8th, the Finnish Education Promotion Forum was held in Marriott Hotel in Changzhou.
The forum was hosted by Mr. Markku Paukkunen, Senior China Advisor of Satakunta University of Applied Science. Mr. Pertti Rajala, Mayor of Satakunta Counsil, delivered the opening speech. Mr. Hu Peng, Vice Director of Changzhou Municipal Education Bureau, and Mr. Sima Shuanglong, Vice Director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, delivered speeches in the opening ceremony.
Satakunta Region and Changzhou established sister-city relationship in 2008. This is the first Finnish forum held in Changzhou with the topic of education. In the section of keynote speeches, Mr. Veli-Matti Palomäki, Finland Promotion Officer at Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai, gave a general Introduction of Finnish Education System; Mrs. Marleena Tuuri, Training Manager of Jyväskylä Adult Education, briefed the strength of Finnish Education; and Mr. Marko Kemppinen, Head of International Affairs, Satakunta Educational Federation, presented the opportunities to study in Finland.
